There’s a special kind of magic that happens at Ohoopee River Campground—kids running wild and free, neighbors turning into friends over cornhole, and late-night karaoke echoing under the stars. And this year, we’re turning the fun up a notch with something brand-new: Themed Weekends!

That’s right—we’ve built five unique weekends to bring campers together in creative, silly, and memory-making ways. Whether you're a seasoned site-hopper or this is your very first time rolling in, these weekends offer a little extra fun for every kind of camper.

🌀Totally Tie Dye Weekend – June 20–22

We’re kicking off our themed weekends with a splash! Totally Tie Dye Weekend is your chance to dive into a world of color, creativity, and carefree fun. From swirling shirts to funky campsite décor, we’re embracing all things bright and bold.

Don’t be surprised if you see rainbow socks, tie-dye flags fluttering from campers, or even a four-legged friend sporting some groovy gear. Bring your most colorful outfit, your imagination, and a love for all things playful—let’s see how vibrant Ohoopee can get!

🌟 Red, White & Glow – July 4–6

There’s nothing quite like the Fourth of July at the campground—grills sizzling, flags waving, and that unmistakable feeling of American celebration in the air. Our Red, White & Glow Weekend adds a fun twist to tradition with glowing accessories and a light-filled parade of decorated golf carts, bikes and even wagons!

Bring your appetite (and maybe your favorite recipe) for our Camper Crawl—a campground-wide walkabout where guests can visit participating sites for tasty snacks, sips, and a whole lot of neighborly fun. It's the perfect way to mingle, share, and celebrate the holiday weekend together.

We’ll be soaking up every minute of the festivities—dressed in stars, glowing in the dark, and celebrating freedom, family, and fun under the night sky.

🪕 Hoopee Holler Day Weekend – July 18–20

If you’ve got a pair of overalls, a good sense of humor, and a love for all things country, you need to be here for Hoopee Holler Day Weekend—our own twist on a good ol’ fashioned hillbilly hoedown.

This weekend is full of silly fun: decorated carts and sites, hilarious games, and the kind of costumes that’ll have everyone grinning. We’re talking lawn chairs, holler-concocted games, and the chance to show off your finest mullet wig or duct-tape creation. It’s all in good fun—and trust us, it’s the kind of weekend folks talk about long after the campfire burns out.

🏈 Campground Kickoff Weekend – August 15–17

It’s time to gear up for one of our favorite times of year here in the South—college football season! Whether you’re all about the tailgating, the touchdowns, or just repping your team colors with pride, this weekend is for you.

We’re turning the pavilion into a campground-style tailgate zone. Bring your best game-day snacks, set up your chairs and yard games, and get ready to trade team chants and stories with fellow fans. There’ll be a little team trivia, a whole lot of spirit, and even a grill-off where campers can show off their top-tier grilling skills.

If you’re ready to represent, go all out with your site or tailgate setup—flags, banners, mascots, the works. Make it big, make it bold, and don’t worry if the other teams boo… that just means they’re jealous. No matter who you’re rooting for, everyone wins at Campground Kickoff.

🌺 Aloha summer! – August 29–September 1

We’re sending off summer in style with a tropical-themed Labor Day luau! Think leis, laughter, palm trees (inflatable ones count!), and all the laid-back island vibes your heart desires.

Our pavilion will transform into party central, and you’ll have a chance to decorate, hula, and unwind as the sun sets on a hot summer season. Whether you're sipping punch or showing off your best moves, this one’s all about celebrating the end of summer—with a coconut in hand and your toes in the sand.

Here at Ohoopee River Campground, we believe camping is about more than just campfires and s’mores—it’s about making friends and memories that last. That’s why we’re so excited to roll out our themed weekends this year!

These weekends are our way of adding a little extra spark to your stay—bringing campers together through fun activities, silly traditions, and moments that’ll have you smiling long after checkout. We can’t wait to get into the spirit right alongside you, whether it’s decking out in tie-dye, showing up in full tailgate gear, or rocking coconut necklaces and lawn flamingos.

You don’t have to participate in everything to be part of the fun. Just being here and soaking up the atmosphere is enough—but we highly encourage you to join in by dressing up, decorating your site, and leaning into the theme. It’s more fun when everyone plays along!
